Happy Blogday Birth

Happy birthday dear blog,
Happy birthday dear blog,
Happy birthday dear blooooog
Happy birthday to you

It's funny this blog. And not just the side-splittingly hilarious sort of a quick 'ha ha' funny (although, *mwah* thanks for noticing); but funny odd.
Every day, it's there. Hanging round like an eggy trump that refuses to waft away. Mithering me while I'm trying to load the dishwasher ("what you gonna write about?"), while I'm eating my tea ("what you gonna write about?), while I'm fobbing off the Avon lady ("what you gonna write about? Eh? Well? You've had all day, surely to God you've come up with somat by now?") It stalks me, it riles me up and it cheeses me off.

It's like that mate you've got.
*looks over shoulder to ensure said 'mate' isn't in earshot*
That one who, when they get in touch, you really can't be bothered meeting up with, but when you finally get round finding a crumb of time to flick their way, you remember all the nice bits about them and the reasons why they managed to squirrel their way into your 'friend' category in the first place. Then three days later, you really wish they'd bugger off again, because they keep texting you jokes that aren't funny, and you've remembered that they say 'like' far too much and they breathe dead loud. Even on the phone. In fact, especially on the phone.

Yet, I'm dead proud of it. Go figure, if you're American. If you're not, just have a think about it.
I know what you're expecting now. You're ready for me to tell you how, despite this blog completely doing my head in most of the time, actually, I love it. You're battening down the hatches in preparation of me spouting some hippyish drivel about how "it's a release" for me. For me to tell you that I'm sharing my "journey". That this blog is my "sanctuary".
Well, fear not. Because it's none of those eye gougingly horrific things.

It's just ramblings. Me wittering on about the stuff I'm learning because I've got a daughter. It stops me talking at Dave for a bit. It makes me laugh. Sometimes it makes other people laugh. It's a place where one day, The Poop'll see that we made a mess of alot of it, and it was still good fun anyway. And hopefully it will make her laugh too.
So it can't be all bad.
